Dear Kindred Spirit,

As a Kindred Spirit you play a very important part in the ministry of the BWA Women’s Department. We envision Baptist women from every continent standing together, growing in effectiveness, and impacting our world for Christ.

 

Once every five years Baptist women from around the world come together to encourage and celebrate unity in Christ through the Women’s Leadership Conference. The next conference will be held in Waikiki, Hawaii on July 24-27, 2010 a few days before the BWA World Congress. 

 

The theme for the conference is “In Step with the Spirit” taken from Galatians 5:22-25. In verse 25 we read, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” 

 

As you live in the Spirit, we are asking you to also walk in the Spirit and help to make it possible for Baptist women from each of the seven continental unions to attend the Women’s Leadership Conference in 2010. This years and next years Kindred Spirit’s appeal will be dedicated to establishing a scholarship fund to bring Baptist women who are “In Step with the Spirit” to the conference to participate and share their experience.

 

The approximate cost to bring one woman from each of the continental unions is as follows:                                         

 

Plus we are going to have a special emphasis on young women and we want to bring one young Baptist woman from each continental union. This would cost approximately USD $15,000.

 

We need you to step out and help establish a scholarship fund of USD $100,000 over the next few months. Not only do we want you to help in this way but we also want you to start making your plans to attend the Women’s Leadership Conference so you can meet and get to know the women you helped to attend. Detailed information about the conference is available on the BWA Women’s Department web site, www.bwawd.org.
